Templegate’s NAP can exploit her opening mark under in-form jockey

TEMPLEGATE takes on Monday’s racing confident of making it a bank holiday to remember.

LAST EMPRESS (2.30 Leicester, nap)

She shaped well in three runs on the all-weather over the winter, including a flying home second at Kempton. An opening mark of 66 looks very lenient given her smart pedigree and in-form jock James Doyle can steer her to success.

MAGHLAAK (4.35 Redcar, nb)

Returned from eight months off with a gutsy win at Goodwood over Qitaal. He reopposes that rival off 3lb higher and after just six career starts, it’s fair to assume Charlie Hills’ five-year-old can continue improving this season.

JUNGLE LAND (2.15 Redcar, treble)

Has finished runner-up in both his starts so far. The form of his latest Newcastle run looks strong and he can deservedly get off the mark before trying his hand at some good handicaps this summer.
