Mike Tyson ‘doing great’ after pre-flight medical scare

Mike Tyson is in good health following reports of the boxing legend needing medical attention before boarding a flight Sunday in Miami.

Representatives from Tyson’s team released a statement saying that Tyson, 57, is “doing great” after news broke that he suffered a medical emergency prior to taking a flight to Los Angeles. In Touch Weekly was first to report the news.

According to Tyson’s representation, he “became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare-up 30 minutes before landing.” They denied that his medical emergency caused a two-hour delay, attributing it instead to an “air conditioning issue on the aircraft.”

Though Tyson appears to be fine, the news is likely to raise fresh concerns about his return to the ring, which takes place July 20. Tyson is set to fight social media influencer-turned-boxer Jake Paul at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, with the pro contest airing live on Netflix. It will be Tyson’s first fight since an exhibition bout against Roy Jones Jr. in November 2020 and his first pro fight since June 2005.
