A former Wyoming and Northern Colorado assistant coach has joined the Colorado State men’s basketball program.

CSU announced the addition of Ken DeWeese to Niko Medved’s staff on Tuesday. He replaces CJ Rivers, who was hired away by Marquette as an assistant coach.

DeWeese spent the past four seasons at Wyoming, most recently as the associate head coach under Jeff Linder. Before that he was at Northern Colorado from 2016-20 (also with Linder). DeWeese has also worked at UTEP, Utah Valley and the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.

“I am excited to welcome Ken and his family to our program,” Medved said in a news release. “He brings valuable experience and knowledge of our league after his time at Wyoming. We are fortunate to have someone with his reputation and track record join our program.”

It’s the second bit of staff news for the CSU men’s basketball program, which on Monday announced Ali Farokhmanesh’s role was being elevated from assistant coach to associate head coach.
